Rigid Heddle loom with a 10 dent heddle ( 8 or 12 )
Warped with a variety of fingering weight yarns - to include a variety of colors, fiber
compositions, textures….think fun fur, sparkles, boucle, ribbon etc
* Keeping in mind that the warp yarn must withstand the rigors of heddle abrasion and loom
*Or a plain, fingering weight warp….Student choice
Warp length at the discretion of student...36 inches for wall hanging, 90+ inches for
scarf...somewhere in between...
The project will be a sampler using a variety of yarns colors and techniques in succession along
the length, interspersed with areas of plainweave,
We will explore finger manipulations, Brooks bouquet, Leno lace, Traveling inclusions, Block
inclusions, Clasped weft, Beading, Butterflies, and Loops
We will move thru the techniques at a good pace in order to get as much in as possible, and the
project will be completed by the student.
