Jilly w/ Cashmere PurlDiver

Availability: In stock (22)

I shot this picture while diving with my son Daniel in
Lembeh, Indonesia. Also called a Humpback Grouper,
this illusive fish is found on coral reefs where they hide
in crevices and among branching corals or among the
coral rubble of sheltered reefs. Juveniles have an
undulating head down swimming style making them
quite difficult to photograph. This one was only about
an inch and a half long. Adults develop a strange
stocky shape accented by a concave profile and
elongated snout that gives them a humpbacked
appearance. They can get quite large, up to 30 inches
and are an important food fish.
