Do you always choose the exact colors a sample is knit in?
Are you overwhelmed by all the choices at the yarn shop?
Do you always go back to safe colors and wish you’d branched out?
Does color scare you?
If you answered yes to any of the above quesionts, then this class is just for you! We will explore techniques that anyone can use to make a knitting project in colors you’ll love. We will be looking at actual yarns and slides that introduce some simple techniques that Casapinka has discovered from spending so much time with knitters. You will leave this class with more color confidence. This will be a class full of laughs and hopefully some “ah ha” moments.
Saturday, February 17th, 10am-1pm.
Combination workshop - Color Workshop with new
four colored shawl introduction
This workshop will be a combination class that will include an introduction to color
with tips to help you choose gorgeous colors that you love for your knitting projects.
If you are ever overwhelmed by colors in your yarn store, this will help you narrow
down your choices. If you’re stuck in a rut this will help you to get out of it.
We will then introduce a new four colored shawl, practice the technique to knit the
shawl, and learn how to order your colors for it using a schematic and examples of
different colored shawls. It is a large, boomerang shawl that requires four colors of
fingering weight yarn. You do not have to have the yarn to take the class.
Homework – none
Materials – 6 colors of fingering weight scrap yarn (at least 10 yards each) and a US
4, 5, or 6 needle (what you typically use for shawl knitting.)
Length – 3 hours
